The Pharmacist, written by Jane and directed by Ingrid Ganley, tells the story of a day in the life of a pharmacist and many of the people who come into her Pharmacy. Her customers range from hypochondriacs and addicts to more pragmatic customers and alternate 'self-healers'. These visits are punctuated by a call from the ubiquitous drug company representative and flashbacks to her university pharmacy professor.

Text Box: EDINBURGH REVIEW!!!!!!!!!
I've done it, I've actually done it! I've found one of those mythical 'hidden gems' on the Fringe. Tucked away in the Apex Hotel, this one woman production is a tour de force. Detailing the daily workings of a pharmacy and its customers, the show is beautifully written and flawlessly performed by Australian Jane Russell, who tells the tale as the pharmaceutical counter girl, but morphs into pill hungry grannies and sleaze bag pharmaceutical salesmen at the drop of a hat. At once funny and insightful, this is a brilliantly simple piece, made even better by a bravura performance. So let me prescribe you 'The Pharmacist'. Side effects include a natural high and occasional smugness, leading to incessant bragging about 'hidden gems.' 4/5 Stars

Remarkably Jane plays all nine characters in this 50-minute tour-de-force!
